Musical Growth Plan ~Complete!

Here you will find my three songs all played on the piano by me!

This song is Let It Be by the Beatles and I learned this song for my mom. As explained before, this song was played often by my mother during my childhood. My mom got to be featured in this video!

This song was Pachelbel Canon by Johann Pachelbel and I had learned it for my dad. At the time of playing this song for him, he is actually in the hospital right now so I was not able to have him present while I played, unfortunately. I hope you still enjoy it.

The last song I chose was a song for myself: Fur Elise by Ludwig Van Beethoven. Please excuse the quality of the video, but I do hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much for joining me on my musical journey! In all honesty, I asked my mom for help in learning my songs and would practice with her on her big upright piano. She used to play the piano and felt inspired when she was teaching me to get back into it! Now I know three songs and she and I were able to spend time together while I learned a new skill!

Fur Elise ~by Ludwig Van Beethoven

A song for me!

I chose this song because I have always been mesmerized by pianists’ ability to play this beautiful, classical piece and love the sound of it. I’m still pretty slow at playing Fur Elise and admit I make some mistakes, but I hope to be better by the end of November!

Please enjoy this song 🙂

Let It Be ~by The Beatles

A Song for my Mother

I chose the song Let It Be by the Beatles! I grew up listening to the Beatles as my mom loves that band! She played it so much when I was a child and adolescent, I probably recognize every song they wrote at this point.

Here is me playing Let It Be on the piano:

Thank you for listening to my song! I look forward to sharing it when it’s completed!
*Please excuse the audio of my boyfriend in the background. He works in the same room where my piano is and was chatting with his friend. This video is also two videos stitched because my phone can’t take videos longer than a few minutes at a time. My apologies for any inconveniences.

Pachelbel’s Canon in D ~by Johann Pachelbel

A Tribute to my Father

I picked this song because my dad would listen to it on a CD player on Sundays. It is a song that means a lot to him but I’ve never asked why. Some things are meant to stay private and I respect that.

Here is my video of me finally playing it all the way through! It’s a bit slow and I make some mistakes. I’m working on speed and on perfecting the piece. I hope you enjoy!

Please excuse the lighting ripples and my oven timer going off towards the end. I was baking while playing my song. You’ll also notice that I had to edit it because my phone ran out of storage while I was filming so I had to pause and delete some stuff to make room! This is reflected by the angle shifting halfway through my song. Ah well, these things happen!

Starting an Extemporaneous Expedition

Learn piano with me!

Pictured above is my set-up with a borrowed electric keyboard from my late grandpa that will enable me to practice my learned piano music on this instrument. He used to play piano for me and was an extraordinary pianist. I am excited to start playing the notes this week now that I have a piano to practice on and a video lesson to help me get started.

Above is a YouTube video lesson on how to start learning piano that I really like the energy and vocabulary of and will help me in my musical learning journey.

The reason I picked this video instead of another one is because I like the person who is teaching me and they use examples with easy to understand explanations.

Pictured above in this photo are the two piano books that I found that contain two of the three songs I want to learn. I will be continuing my search for the last song that I need. The songs and their sheet music accompanying will be revealed in the next post so stay tuned to find out what they are! Can you guess which Beatles song I have chosen?
